Most of the things on the bottom seem to be saying EPERM errors (not sure how to fix that). I've attempted to run Vortex as administrator, and the error still prevented me from clicking anything in the window. Happens after clicking elevate for my mods.

There are no search results for this error code on a quick Google search, other than a Reddit thread which was experiencing an issue that was not similar to this error. After this error appeared, I couldn't click anything on the launcher anymore.Ĭlicking the retry button does nothing. This error occurred after I tried to change the location of my downloads folder to the new drive, after creating and selecting the new "Skyrim Mods" folder for Skyrim VR, this error appeared. It was formerly the E:\ drive, it has since been changed to the U:\ drive. Between my last use of Vortex and my most recent use of Vortex, I wiped my hard drive.

It's been a few months since I last ran the Vortex launcher, and because of that I don't remember much about the mods I was running, if that's even relevant. This error message is completely blocking me from accessing Vortex in any way. I'm completely unable to access the version number because I can't click on anything in the launcher. I'm running a freshly downloaded new version of Vortex, after trying to uninstall and reinstall.
Remember that you MUST move the Vortex staging folder to the same volume where the game is located! Selecting a new location for it within Vortex will cause Vortex to move its contents for you. Once you've reconfigured Vortex as necessary to directly use the U: volume, then delete the drive mapping with this command: subst E: /d Then you can set about reconfiguring the Vortex and game directories. Again, since E: now exists again (as U:), it should allow Vortex to start. This temporarily maps the drive letter E: to U: and retains the U: drive letter mapping as well. When the Command window appears, type the following command: subst E: U:\ Open a CMD window (open Start menu and type cmd, right-click on cmd.exe when it appears and choose Run Ad Administrator). If there is no longer an E: volume, you can temporarily map your new U: volume back to E. That should allow Vortex to start because it can now find the drive it expects the directories won't be there, but I hope that won't matter. Is there still an E: volume? If there is, is it an optical media drive? Try placing formatted rewritable media in it and then start Vortex. I'm not certain which Vortex file could potentially be deleted so that you can truly start anew, but there might be an alternative to bypass the error. Once done, close your file browser and launch the game via your Steam Game Library.When you select the save slot of the save we just rolled back, it should now load your game save for that replaced file.Apparently you reinstalled Vortex without removing its original directory after uninstalling it? If so, then you've "inherited" the settings of the previous installation, because settings are "user files" and are normally not removed by a simple uninstallation. Remove the time-stamp from the names of these files if you are reverting to an older save. In the Steam folder, delete or rename the existing save slot files that you are replacing Paste (CTRL+V) your backup saves into your Steam folder Right-click each of your backup saves that are now in your Steam folder and select “Rename”. For this example, we will be backing up / swaping the following save:BAK1Save0x0.sgd & BAK1Save0x1.sgd would be the first slot.
Inside the folder, each game save will be listed here by its slot in your save list. The folder we are looking for is number "208650" since this folder contains all of your save data that can be seen in the "save select" menu in game. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ locate your profile ID number and open the folder.
